In the early evening of January 2, 2025, what began as a transaction involving the sale of a firearm inside an Indianapolis home on Capsella Lane quickly spiraled into violence, leaving one man dead and two others critically injured. The deceased was identified as 29-year-old Sebastian Prayer Jones. The incident marked the city's first homicide of the new year.
