Death by Force

On the evening of October 5, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Welcome Inn, located at 2851 North Shadeland Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims with gunshot wounds. Twenty-eight-year-old Dailon Downing was pronounced dead at the scene, while 33-year-old Aaron Hamilton was transported to Eskenazi Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
