In the early morning hours of June 17, 2022, a sense of unease settled over the 2300 block of Stuart Street in Indianapolis. Just after 1:30 a.m., the sound of a gunshot shattered the quiet, prompting a call to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Officers arrived within minutes to a home on the near northeast side, a neighborhood unfortunately familiar with such violence.
