In the evening hours of November 30, 2022, the life of 21-year-old Jovan S. James, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Indianapolis, Indiana. Police responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 8 p.m. and discovered James in the backyard of a residence on West 29th Street, near Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Street. He had sustained gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
