On February 15, 2006, Emanuel Boyd Jr., aged 66, was found deceased in his home on the north side of Champaign, Illinois. The police were called to the 1200 block of Clock Street in response to a medical emergency. Upon arrival, they discovered Boyd unconscious and bleeding, with injuries consistent with foul play. The investigation revealed that Boyd had died from blunt force trauma, and his death was classified as a homicide.
