In the winter of 1984, the community of Chesapeake, Virginia, was shaken by a brutal crime that claimed the lives of a young mother and her child. Lisa Rene Nixon Sorrell, a 22-year-old female, was found deceased on December 10, 1984. Her body was discovered inside her burgundy Honda, where she had been shot six times in the head. The tragedy was compounded by the discovery of her three-year-old daughter, Shanta, in the trunk of the vehicle; the child had succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning. ...
