Lewis Anthony Sutin, aged 42, tragically lost his life on January 16, 2002, in Grundy, Virginia. Sutin, who was the Dean of the Appalachian School of Law, was a distinguished legal professional with a notable career in both private practice and government service. He had joined the faculty of the Appalachian School of Law in 1999 after serving in several senior positions within the United States Department of Justice, including as Acting Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs.
