Juan Ramon Ortiz, a 26-year-old male graduate student from Puerto Rico, was tragically killed in Blacksburg, Virginia. His life was cut short on April 16, 2007, during the mass shooting that occurred on the campus of Virginia Tech. Ortiz was in an Advanced Hydrology class when he was fatally shot by student Seung-Hui Cho, who went on a rampage, killing 32 people before taking his own life.
