On a summer evening in 2007, the life of 19-year-old Michael Tatum was tragically cut short in a burst of violence. The young man was inside an apartment in the 300 block of East Beal Street in Henrico, Virginia, on June 22nd when the unthinkable happened. At least two individuals forced their way into the residence and opened fire on the people inside.
The chaotic scene left three people shot. Michael Tatum died at the scene from a gunshot wound. Another victim, 18-year-old Maurice Thomas, was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. A third person was also shot but managed to survive the violent encounter.
In the years that have followed, the case of Michael Tatum's death has remained unsolved. Law enforcement in Henrico County continues to seek information from the public that might lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspects responsible for the double homicide.
