Ricky L. Ellerbe, a 33-year-old resident of Henrico, Virginia, was found dead on July 11, 2012. His body was discovered face down in an alley in the 2100 block of N. 20th Street, Henrico County. Ellerbe had left his home after midnight to visit the all-night 360 Express Mart on Mechanicsville Turnpike but never returned. The circumstances surrounding his death were immediately treated as suspicious, and the case was classified as a homicide.
