In the late hours of a summer night in Roanoke, Virginia, the life of William Nolan Clark, a 27-year-old Black man from Raleigh, North Carolina, was tragically cut short. On July 17, 2012, just before midnight, the sound of gunfire echoed in the 1500 block of Gilmer Avenue. Responding officers discovered a wounded Clark outside a residence in the area.
