On the night of November 30, 2012, Mohammad Tamen Ziedan, a 50-year-old male, was working his shift as a store clerk at Roy's Quick Serve on West Pembroke Avenue in Hampton, Virginia. Born in Jerusalem, Israel, Ziedan was a known figure in his community. The night took a tragic turn at approximately 11:49 PM, when two individuals entered the store with the intent to rob it.
The suspects, described as two Black males wearing ski masks, demanded money.
During the course of the robbery, Ziedan was shot multiple times. After the assailants fled the scene, law enforcement was dispatched to the convenience store following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ziedan with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he succumbed to his injuries.
The Hampton Police Division launched an investigation into the homicide. However, the case has proven to be challenging for law enforcement. The use of ski masks by the suspects has made their identification difficult. In the years following the incident, no arrests have been made, and the case remains an unsolved homicide. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to ask for anyone with information to come forward to bring resolution to the case.
