In the summer of 2013, a young Black man named Terrell James West, aged 23, became the victim of a fatal shooting in Henrico, Virginia. On the evening of July 14, Henrico Police were called to the 4900 block of Wood Thrush Circle following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Terrell West in a hallway of a second-level stairwell, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was urgently transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he succumbed to them later that evening.
The investigation into the death of Terrell West was immediately classified as a homicide.
