In the late summer of 2013, the life of 18-year-old Zekei Tyequaz Johnson, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On the evening of August 10th, Johnson was gunned down in the parking lot of the Richmond Inn and Suites off Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond, Virginia. The young man, who was preparing to leave for college, was remembered by his family and community as a vibrant and promising individual.
