In the early morning hours of March 27, 2015, the lives of two young people were tragically cut short in a Virginia Beach home. Twenty-three-year-old Chasity Nicole Brown and her 25-year-old boyfriend, Rory Joseph Nobriga, were discovered deceased inside their residence on Old Virginia Beach Road. The initial call to police came in as a suspicious death, and upon arrival, officers found both individuals with fatal gunshot wounds.
The ensuing investigation by the medical examiner brought
a grim clarity to the tragic events. Rory Nobriga's death was determined to be a suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. While the official manner of Chasity Brown's death was initially pending, the circumstances pointed towards a devastating conclusion. Law enforcement officials confirmed that they were not searching for any suspects, indicating that the incident was contained within the home and that Nobriga was responsible for Brown's death before taking his own life.
The news of Chasity's death sent shockwaves through her community of friends and family, who were left to grapple with the sudden and violent loss. Described as 'bubbly and happy and very, very sweet,' Chasity was remembered as the 'queen of the beach' by those who knew and loved her. A memorial fund was also established in her name. The investigation did not result in any arrests as the sole suspect in her death was also deceased.
