Trooper II Chad Phillip Dermyer, a Virginia State Police officer, tragically lost his life on March 31, 2016, at the age of 37. Dermyer was participating in an interdiction training exercise at the Greyhound bus terminal in Richmond, Virginia, when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 2:45 PM as Dermyer approached a suspicious individual.
