In the spring of 2018, the life of 61-year-old Geraldine R. Tillery, a Black female, was tragically cut short by an act of violence in her Richmond, Virginia community. On the evening of May 5th, Tillery was shot in the 2300 block of Concord Avenue. News reports from the time indicate that she was shot after answering a knock at her door.
