when Veronica Youngblood gave her daughters sleeping pill gummies before shooting them. Despite being shot in the back and chest, Sharon bravely managed to call 911 and identify her mother as the assailant before she was transported to the hospital, where she later died. Her younger sister, Brooklynn, was found deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head.
The motive for these senseless killings was revealed to be a bitter custody dispute. Youngblood's ex-husband, Ron Youngblood, had been planning to move to Missouri with Brooklynn. In what prosecutors described as a premeditated act of revenge, Veronica Youngblood purchased the handgun used in the murders just a week prior to the shootings.
