In the summer of 2018, a tragic series of events unfolded in Virginia Beach, culminating in the death of 50-year-old Belinda Davis. The incident, which also involved her husband, William Davis, left a trail of questions and sorrow for their family. The couple had been married for approximately two decades.
On the morning of August 8, 2018, events began to spiral when a fire, later determined to be intentionally set, broke out at the couple's home on Paiute Road.
That same day, Belinda Davis drove to her husband's worksite. There, she reportedly informed him that she had been diagnosed with cancer. The couple, who were also facing eviction from their home, then left together in William's work truck.
Shortly after, their vehicle was involved in a single-car crash on Interstate 264 near First Colonial Road. When Virginia State Police arrived at the scene, they discovered both Belinda and William Davis deceased inside the truck. Subsequent investigation by the medical examiner revealed that both had died from gunshot wounds to the head. The investigation concluded that Belinda Davis shot her husband before turning the gun on herself. Her death was officially ruled a suicide, and she was identified as the suspect in her husband's death. Authorities found a handgun in her lap at the scene.
