Raghib Ismail Brooks, a 27-year-old resident of Newport News, Virginia, tragically lost his life on October 11, 2018. Brooks was found with apparent gunshot wounds in the 700 block of Gloucester Drive. The Newport News Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the area around 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Brooks suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
