In the late hours of a Saturday night in June 2021, tragedy struck in Hampton, Virginia, leaving one family to grapple with a sudden and violent loss. Johnathan Raymond Opie, a 41-year-old male, was fatally wounded in a shooting that unfolded just before midnight on June 19th in the 700 block of Homestead Avenue.
