On May 30, 2022, Prentis 'Rusty' Hale III, aged 80, and his third wife, Karen Hansen-Pieri, 60, were found dead at their remote property in rural Yamhill County, Oregon. The incident occurred at a home located in the 11000 block of Southwest Dupee Valley Road, an area between McMinnville and the town of Sheridan. The discovery was made by a 911 caller who had gone to the property to check on some animals and found the two individuals appearing to be dead.
