On the evening of October 7, 2021, a dispute in a parking lot in Hampton, Virginia, escalated to a fatal conclusion. In the 100 block of Water Way, an altercation resulted in 40-year-old Kareem B. Harley being shot. The male suspect, or suspects, fled the scene immediately after the gunfire erupted around 5:45 p.m.
When officers from the Hampton Police Department arrived, they discovered Harley suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The motive for the shooting has not been made clear by investigators.
