Juan Carlos Anaya Hernandez, a 24-year-old man from El Salvador, was an aspiring musician who had settled with his family in Alexandria, Virginia, after fleeing violence in his home country. He often serenaded his neighbors in the apartment complex where they lived. His life, however, was tragically cut short on the morning of July 16, 2022, a day that began like any other workday.
