On a Tuesday afternoon in Bristol, Virginia, the life of 22-year-old Randall L. Stiltner was tragically cut short. On November 15, 2022, police responded to a report of a shooting on Inez Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Stiltner suffering from a gunshot wound. He was a white male. Emergency services transported him to Bristol Regional Medical Center, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led authorities to a
suspect. Within approximately 20 minutes of arriving at the scene, police apprehended 26-year-old Tyler W. Collins outside a residence in a nearby neighborhood. Collins, a resident of Bristol, Virginia, was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting.
Following his arrest, Tyler W. Collins was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Randall Stiltner. He is currently being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon without bond as he awaits further legal proceedings. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing and that additional charges may be filed as they continue to piece together the events that led to the deadly encounter.
