Policeman William F. Campbell, aged 34, was a dedicated officer with the Bristol Police Department in Virginia. On April 29, 1908, while on duty, he was involved in a tragic incident that ultimately led to his death. Campbell was shot by a suspect wanted for malicious shooting and bootlegging.
