On the evening of November 30, 2022, a tragedy unfolded in the small town of Waverly, Virginia, that left a family shattered and a community in shock. Ronald Lorenza Ellis, a 57-year-old Black male, was at his home on Railroad Avenue with his brother, Alexander Ellis, when their lives were violently cut short. A gunman entered their residence and opened fire, killing both Ronald and Alexander and injuring a woman who was also present at the scene.
