In the early summer of 1983, a 49-year-old U.S. Army veteran named Hollis Laverne Dykes vanished from Elk City, Oklahoma. He was a man with brown hair and blue eyes, standing at five feet five inches tall. A noticeable scar ran from under his arm to his collarbone area, a permanent reminder of his past.
