In the city of Paterson, New Jersey, a dedicated police sergeant's life was cut tragically short in a sudden act of violence. Enrico Venditte, a 47-year-old Caucasian male, served with the Paterson Police Department for 16 years, known for his commitment to his duty. On May 23, 2001, while on a break from his shift, Sergeant Venditte, in full uniform, went to a rental property he owned at 224-226 Clinton Street to address an ongoing issue with a tenant he had twice attempted to evict.
