In the early hours of a summer day in Bridgeton, New Jersey, a sequence of events unfolded that would end in the tragic death of Reuben Jacobs, a 36-year-old man. On July 1, 2014, the Bridgeton Police Department received a report of a gunshot victim and responded to a residence at 261 South Avenue. There, they discovered Jacobs in the driveway, having sustained a single, fatal gunshot wound. His death was swiftly classified as a homicide.
