In the autumn of 2014, a violent encounter on a Paterson, New Jersey street tragically cut short the life of Omar Kareem Clark. The 35-year-old Black man was walking near his home on November 19, 2014, when he was accosted by two men intent on robbing him. During his attempt to flee the confrontation, one of the assailants shot Clark in the leg. His injuries proved to be fatal, and he died a few days later.
