In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in East Orange, New Jersey, tragedy struck a 17-year-old male named Tyjid Campbell. On May 6, 2015, the young Black / African American man was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Mountainview Avenue. Shortly after 11 p.m., the night was shattered by the sound of gunfire, and both occupants of the car were hit.
