In the early morning hours of December 27, 2015, the sounds of a party at a warehouse on First Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey, were shattered by gunfire. Inside the illegal after-hours gathering, attended by over 200 people, chaos erupted. When the violence subsided, two young men lay wounded. One of them was 26-year-old Kashif Belfield. Rushed to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Belfield, along with the other victim, 24-year-old Fernando Irby, succumbed to their injuries.
