On October 3, 2023, at approximately 3:47 p.m., a shooting occurred near Broadway and Rosa Parks Boulevard in Paterson, New Jersey. The incident resulted in the death of 23-year-old Jerrell Wright from Riverdale, who sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and was pronounced deceased at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Two other victims, a 19-year-old male from Elmwood Park and a 57-year-old male from Paterson, were also injured but survived the attack.
