In the late afternoon of February 3, 2016, a young man's life was cut short on a street in Newark, New Jersey. Rashae Smith, a 21-year-old male from the neighboring town of Florham Park, was on Isabella Avenue when violence erupted. At approximately 3:23 p.m., Newark Police responded to reports of a shooting in progress in the area. Upon their arrival, they discovered Smith suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
