On a Thursday morning in May 2017, the life of 28-year-old Anthony A. Jordan, a Black male, was cut short in a burst of violence in Atlantic City, New Jersey. On May 11th, police responded to a 911 call and discovered Jordan inside a vehicle on Brigantine Boulevard, the victim of multiple gunshot wounds. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and the Atlantic City Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into his death.
