In the late hours of a Saturday night in Andalusia, Alabama, the life of 32-year-old Domonique Terrell Curry, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On October 23, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Andalusia Police Department received reports of gunshots in the 400 block of Mock Street. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Curry lying unresponsive in the roadway. He was swiftly transported to Andalusia Health by Advanced EMS, where medical personnel determined he had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Despite their efforts, Domonique Terrell Curry succumbed to his injuries.
The Andalusia Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division immediately began an intensive investigation into the homicide. It wasn't long before a person of interest was identified, and the focus of the investigation soon centered on 27-year-old Corneliuse Trayvon 'BB' Marshall, who was named as the primary suspect in Curry's death. Authorities believed Marshall had fled the scene on foot and was possibly hiding in the immediate area, including the nearby town of Opp, Alabama. The search for Marshall and the quest for justice for Curry were underway.
As the investigation progressed, the Andalusia Police Department made two additional arrests in connection with the case. Whisper Marie Langford, 35, was taken into custody and charged with hindering prosecution in the first degree. It was alleged that she had assisted Marshall in his efforts to evade capture. She was later released on a $50,000 bond. In a further development, the suspect's own father, 53-year-old James Cornelise Marshall, was arrested and charged with intimidating a witness after he reportedly made threats to a witness in the case. He was held on a $50,000 bond.
The manhunt for the primary suspect concluded on November 5, 2021, when Corneliuse Trayvon Marshall, accompanied by his attorney, turned himself in to the authorities at approximately 12:30 p.m. He was booked into the Covington County Jail on a murder charge, with his bond set at $1 million. Marshall also faced additional drug-related charges, bringing his total bond to $1,023,000. The Andalusia Police Department publicly expressed their gratitude to the community for their assistance and cooperation throughout the investigation, which proved crucial in resolving the case and bringing the suspects to justice.
