In the early morning hours of July 7, 2017, the life of 22-year-old Ahmid Murray of Sicklerville, New Jersey, was tragically cut short. Camden County Police responded to reports of a shooting at the Crestbury Apartment Complex on South 8th Street at approximately 12:18 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Murray inside his vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported Murray to Cooper University Hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:36 a.m. The investigation into the fatal shooting was immediately launched by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and the Camden County Police Department.
In the days following the shooting, authorities sought the public's help in identifying a person of interest who was seen in a video walking on the grounds of the apartment complex around the time of the incident. Investigators from the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and the Camden County Police Department urged anyone with information to come forward. However, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the homicide, and the investigation remains ongoing.
