In the late hours of Halloween night in 2017, a tragedy unfolded in Elizabeth, New Jersey, that cut short the lives of two young women. Shaniquah Richardson, a 24-year-old female, and her close friend, 22-year-old Rah-Zhane Lee, were walking through a park when they were ambushed in a sudden burst of gunfire. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on November 1, 2017, near the area of 2nd and Court streets in the city's Elizabethport section.
