In the early morning hours of Saturday, December 9, 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the pre-dawn stillness on Myrtle Avenue in Irvington, New Jersey, leaving a community shaken and a family grieving. Inside a vehicle parked on the 300 block of the street, 33-year-old Ahmad J. Carson of Newark was fatally wounded in the incident, which unfolded shortly after 1 a.m. He was a male.
