In the quiet hours of a Sunday evening in Jersey City, New Jersey, the life of a young police officer came to a sudden and tragic end. On March 25, 2018, Ramon Torres, a 32-year-old male officer with the Jersey City Police Department, was found inside his Woodlawn Avenue residence with a fatal gunshot wound. The call came in at approximately 8:00 p.m., reporting an officer had been shot, sending his fellow officers rushing to the scene where they discovered him in a lifeless condition.
