In the early morning hours of August 9, 2019, tragedy struck in Newark, New Jersey, forever altering the lives of a local family. Nakiyyah Miller, an 18-year-old female, was fatally wounded in a shooting that erupted on Brunswick Street around 3:00 a.m. The burst of gunfire not only claimed Miller's life but also left two others, a 16-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man, with injuries.
