In the late hours of a Sunday evening in December 2019, the city of Newark was rattled by an act of violence that claimed the life of 54-year-old Patrick Wollingston. On that night, at approximately 11 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of South 9th Street and 13th Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Wollingston suffering from severe injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
