In the spring of 2020, a shooting in Newark, New Jersey, claimed the life of 33-year-old Derrick Pinkett. On the evening of April 25th, shortly after 9 p.m., Newark police were dispatched to the vicinity of 91 Frelinghuysen Avenue following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered evidence of a shooting, but no victim was present at the scene.
