On a summer day that was supposed to be for celebration, tragedy struck in Newark, New Jersey, forever altering the lives of two families. Nekeya Grady, a 36-year-old Black/African American female from Willingboro, was fatally shot on July 4, 2020. The incident, which also claimed the life of 46-year-old Earl Cohen of Newark, unfolded on the 100 block of Brookdale Avenue in the early afternoon.
