David Hresil, an 18-year-old senior at St. Rita High School, was tragically killed on January 8, 2009, in Chicago, Illinois. He was shot at around 3:30 p.m. while walking home from school in the West Lawn neighborhood, near 60th Street and Springfield Avenue. David had taken two CTA buses on his way home before the fatal incident occurred. According to reports, he was approached by an unknown individual who shot him on the quiet, tree-lined street.
