On February 14, 2009, Marcell Castle, a 19-year-old resident of Chicago, was fatally shot while traveling in a van in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on Chicago's Far South Side. Witnesses reported that Castle was riding in the vehicle when an unknown assailant opened fire from the street, striking him.
