In the late morning of a summer Friday, the city of Plainfield, New Jersey, was disrupted by an act of violence that would end the life of one of its own. On August 13, 2021, Jasper Moss, a 30-year-old Black male from Plainfield, was shot at the intersection of Pond Place and West Third Street. Responding to the scene shortly before 11 a.m., officers from the Plainfield Police Department discovered Moss and another individual, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
