In the early morning hours of October 3, 2021, the life of 30-year-old Daniel Rios, a Hispanic male, was brought to a tragic and violent end in Camden, New Jersey. The incident unfolded within the confines of the Northgate I apartment building, located on North 7th Street near the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. It was there, in a hallway, that Rios was discovered after police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 6:05 a.m.
He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
Emergency services transported Rios to Cooper University Hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at 6:20 a.m. The Camden County Prosecutor's Office, in conjunction with the Camden County Metro Police Department, promptly launched an investigation into the shooting.
