An early morning burst of gunfire on a summer weekend in Camden, New Jersey, shattered the quiet and left a family grieving. On Saturday, August 12, 2023, the city's automated ShotSpotter system detected gunshots in the 1000 block of Lois Avenue, prompting a police response at approximately 1:36 a.m. Arriving at the scene, officers from the Camden County Police Department discovered a grim scene with two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
